As we do every year, we take the opportunity to write to you at the beginning of December because in a few days, between lunches, dinners and congratulations, we will all be too busy. We would like to share with you a small summary of the year that is coming to an end and encourage you to face this new year with energy and enthusiasm, which is almost here.
When three years ago Fellow Funders was born as an online investment platform, the project was just a dream, we were a strong team with a lot of enthusiasm and desire to change things. Our mission was to help with two problems in our country:
- To offer investors access to all types of live investments regardless of the amount to be invested (democratisation of investment).
- To provide companies with complementary sources of funding to traditional ones, thereby reducing concentration and increasing their chances of growth.
During this time we have never stopped learning intensly, but there is still a long way to go. We have reached many conclusions, but the most important is also the most hopeful: when a company allows its customers, suppliers, distributors, employees, … to participate in its business success, everything flows, there are no better ambassadors (influencers as it is fashionable to say), and everyone walks in the same direction. That means: there is a school effect (a group of small fish), which is able to overcome all kinds of difficulties. And all this can be translated into easily quantifiable metrics and parameters.
This year 2019 has been marked by uncertainties and instability (political, economic, …) but there are reasons to be happy, and to keep on working. …. In fact, there are plenty of reasons to be grateful for this 2019 that encourage us to continue working with enthusiasm next year.
Thanks to you, and to the great family that we are building together, we have already helped more than 30 entrepreneurs, and we have invested more than 15 million euros. Together we are managing to democratise investment and strengthen the business fabric of our country. Indeed, a few days ago, all the members of Fellow (yes, you too) were given a new award: best operation of the year 2019. And this operation was not technology, it was not something disruptive, it was a real economy company like the ones we like to help and support. Congratulations my dear partner.
In addition, and although we live in an online world that moves at breakneck speed, we have been lucky enough to meet more than 1,000 of you in person, thanks to your participation in our events and training courses. We hope that this figure will continue to grow this year 2020, but above all, we hope that you will continue to feel the closeness and personalised treatment that we try to offer despite living in an online world. The closer we are, the stronger the impact we have on society, and therefore on our investments.
For all these reasons we would just like to thank each and every one of you for trusting us to build your investment portfolio and grow your companies. Together we will manage to align investor & company interests and strengthen the SME fabric of our country.
We have a long road ahead of us and we want to do it together. Let’s not allow ourselves to be infected by negative thoughts. This coming 2020, we are going to bring you great surprises, great companies to support and invest in and many events to meet and get to know each other better. Do not miss it!
