Mooevo wins the Startup 2020 Expansion Award in the category of Mobility and Smart Cities

Despite the Coronavirus crisis, at Fellow Funders we would like to finish this year with optimism, and we have found recently some reasons to celebrate. We should add both the success of Mooevo to the recent profit in GreyGlasses, which has successfully closed its round; and of EasyCharger with its four new charging stations. Mooevo is focused on the electric mobility and they trusted us to be financed. As a result, they have won this week the prestigious award which reflect all their effort and creativity.

On Thursday, December 3, the Expansión 2020 Awards ceremony was held for the most outstanding innovative startups in the different emerging sectors of Spanish society. From the 155 nominations, the Jury composed of Iñaki Ortega Cachón, Director of Deusto Business School, Antonio Durán, Head of Innovation at Abertis Group, Javier Jiménez, General Director of Lanzadera, Inés Rovira, Director of Territorial Associations and Forum at IEF – Instituto de la Empresa Familiar, David Parra CEO of Leyton Iberia, and Miguel Vicente President of Barcelona Tech City, decided the winners based on innovation and their contribution to society.

In the event led by Ana Isabel Pereda, Director of Expansión Awards, by complying with the COVID-19 Health standards, reflected the progress of Spanish entrepreneurs during this year. They have managed a higher financing than in 2019, although their amount was lower. Mooevo achieves itself 300,000 euros in their financing round with the support of Fellow Funders.

Innovation in mobility

During the ceremony, Mooevo won the Startup 2020 Expansion Award in the category of Mobility and Smart Cities. The main reason that led them to receive this award was the innovation of their device, which allows to give a conventional wheelchair mechanical propulsion and thus efficiently improve the mobility of the city.

In the words of Ignacio Estelles CEO of Mooevo This award is a further recognition of the trajectory we started with the intention of improving the worldfacilitating mobility for people who need to use wheelchairs and their companions, and providing sustainable solutions for companies. Thanks to the jury for giving us this award that encourages us to continue with the work we are doing”.
